The Sunday Morning Slasher.

The Sunday morning Slasher is in reference to no other than Carl Eugene Watts also known as Coral. The most UNfamous Serial killer the world knows very little if any of.

Watt's murdered more than 100+ women. That's more than Gacy, Dahmer, and Bundy's numbers combined. He was active as a killer from 1974 until 1982 when he was finally linked to his heinous crimes and apprehended my the local police department. Watt's killed and attacked women within Michigan, Texas, and even parts of Canada.

Born November 7, 1953 in non other than Killeen, Texas to Dorothy Mae Young who was a Kindergarten Art Teacher and Richard Eugene Watts who was obviously a part of the U.S. Army given Watts was born in Killeen which the home away from home to Fort Hood. Richard was a first class Private at the time of Watt's birth. He was transferred to Fort Hood in 1942 for the sole reason of it being the chosen site for the American Army's Tank Destroyer Tactical and Firing Center.

Watt's mother and father divorced when Watt's was not even 2 yet. After the birth of their second child, Watt's sister Sharron. In 1962 His mother remarried a man named Norman Caesar who was a Mechanic and father of 6 kids of his own from a previous marriage. His mother later gave birth to 2 additional daughters with Norman for a grand total of 10 kids between the 2 of them.

*SIDE NOTE*

They should had started their own sports team. Maybe then Watt's path would had turned out a lot differently. Or, it may had pushed him to kill sooner, who's really to say.

At the age of 8, Watt's and his sister Sharron both contracted meningitis. Which, nearly killed him. In the end he suffered from Brain Damage, memory loss, chronic sleeplessness which in turn cause Watt's to suffer from violent dreams all involving Watt's "battling off and killing the wicked spirits of women."

By the age of 12 Watt's stated he began to greatly enjoy his dreams or as he called them "sleep induced fantasies" of torturing and killing girls and young women. It is suspected that Watt's actually took his first life at the age of 15. He was identified at that age of 15 as the culprit who viscously attacked a 26 year old woman within her own apartment. During a Psych eval Watt's was asked if his dreams disturbed him at all in which he replied "No, I feel better after I have one!" He claimed the dreams were not nightmares as they were referring to them as because he "enjoyed them." He proceeded on to state his motivation behind the attack on the 26 year old woman was merely for the reason of he just "felt like beating someone up." He went on during the evaluation to reveal he suffered from a mild intellectual disability with an IQ of only 75, a delusional thought process, and no evidence of psychosis.

The officer that interviewed Watt's at the time of that arrest however claimed Watts appeared to be highly intelligent with an excellent memory. The psychiatrist later reported that Watts was an impulsive individual who had a passive aggressive orientation to life and was struggling for control over strong homicidal impulses. He thought Watts posed a threat to society and hoped that Watts would benefit from outpatient therapy.

*SIDE NOTE*

So, a licensed Psychiatrist not only stated he felt Watts "posed a threat" to society, instead of ending the comment right there decided to include the fact of beneficial OUTPAITENT therapy?!? Meaning, the not normal human for lack of better words you're describing does not need to be confined to said mental institution. But rather, allowed to live among those that do not have these same urges as long as he what? PINKY PROMISES to come in when/if he feels those same urges creeping up again?

And with that, Watts was released on his 16th birthday after only being sentenced to a year in that same hospital with the agreement he would return for Outpatient treatment. He ended up doing 9 visits for the outpatient therapy. He was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder as well.

At 16 years of age he was only reading at a 4th grade level...

That's a little of the backstory to Watts that pretty much lead up to his Serial Killer lifestyle. How old he was when he began fighting these urges to kill, well I would not go as far as to say fighting the urges since he did attack that 26 year old woman on his paper route at the young age of 15.

His first CONFIRMED and CONFESSED killing didn't occur until he was 20 years old. Just a year after he graduated from High School.

The Dahmer life story plot starts to play out in my head every time I see, hear, or read about Watts first confirmed killing. If it were not for the fact that Watts actually killed BEFORE Dahmer I would not be able to blurt out "Did we TRY to follow in our HEROS footsteps? But waited a little too long as it took you a year instead of  3 weeks like Dahmer managed?" BUT Watts took the life of his first victim in 1974 where Dahmer did not take the life of  Hicks until 1978.

It is extremely strange to me that Dahmer got all of the media attention for his violent killings while Watts was not even on the radar at this point. A 4 year difference between the two starts of killings, however Dahmer was in the state of Ohio while Watts was in TX, MI, AND Canada. So it's safe to say it took even longer to get a count on and trace them back to Watts. Who's to say, it was a different time with different laws, not to mention DNA was not what it is TODAY or even in 1991 when Dahmer was arrested and charged.

Back to the main topic of the post, I tend to get off track and on to other killers that resemble or remind of the topic lead killer.

Watts kidnapped his victims from their own homes, tortured them, then ending the outing in twisted forms of murder. He never sexually assaulted his victims because he was not sexually driven to commit the murders. He was murdering thin, attractive, white women for the reason in his mind that all women were "evil and had evil souls."

Some of his go to murder bag tricks included ways of Strangulation, stabbing, bludgeoning, and even drowning. The victims ranged in ages from 14-44. He served a year in prison for the attack of not one but 2 women in MI. He pled "NO CONTEST" when he went to trial on the assault and battery charge of the two women when managed to get out of the situation with their lives. A happy miracle that not but a few women that went toe to toe with Watts were blessed with. Once released from prison he moved back in with his mother and step father. At this time he managed to impregnate an old high school friend whom he married soon after. Afterall, it is the right thing to do as a man when such a thing happens right? Shortly after the birth of their daughter they called it splits and divorced. He then marries another young woman right after the divorce is final from his first marriage. The new bride stated that not long after they said "I DO" Watts began to act weird. He was constantly moving the furniture around, taking kitchen knives and chopping up the house plants, he would break candles into pieces just to burn them down to wax into the table, he also dumped trash all over the floors inside the home and not even pick it up after himself when he was done. "HOW RUDE!" The not picking up after yourself I do believe that all male born genetics share with one another. I believe upon my reading of this tidbit I did reply out loud no matter how much I felt I only said it in my head but I am reminded that I did in fact reply out loud. "TYPICAL MAN, EVEN WHEN THEY TAKE THE PATH OF SERIAL KILLERS THEY STILL EXPECT THEIR WIFE TO CLEAN UP THE MESS THEY LEAVE IN THEIR WAKE!" Watts also would just up and leave for hours at a time immediately after the newly weds consummated their vows or shared an intimate moment with one another. Needless to say, The second Mrs. Watts said nope, no way. I'm out PEACE! to say the least.

His list of victims go on and on as though no end in site. To share the story of two women that did not have a fatal ending one of which did not and would not stop her fight to save... Not herself, but the life of her friend and roommate. And HOW I came about knowing the name Carl Watts that lead me to research and research this man and end that research with this blog.

Melinda, 18 and Lori, 21 Residents of Houston, TX shared an apartment. On Sunday morning as Melinda was getting ready to start her Sunday morning routine of preparing for church service, she was waiting for her roommate to return home from staying at her boyfriends house who had an early shift at the fire station leaving Lori to return home that morning. While Melinda was making her coffee she heard Lori's keys as she had a lot of keychains and always told Melinda she was home before Lori did. She went to unlock the door for her friend to make it easier for her, but to her surprise as she opened the door it was not Lori. It was a larger black man that without a blink of an eye was on Melinda faster than she could even think of a way to react to the stranger. Watts began choking Melinda, eventually Melinda acted as though the attempt was successful leaving her unconscious. Watts then dragged her into her room, removed the Church Dress she laid out from the wire hanger and used the hanger to tie her hands behind her back so she was unable to break free. The whole time she was thinking where Lori was and what he had done to her. Once he tied her hands behind her and believed she was unconscious, he left the bedroom and Melinda heard the sounds of her roommate's body being dragged from outside into the apartment to the bathroom where he dropped her and began running bath water. While Watts was obviously preoccupied Melinda's love for her friend and her survival jumped in to action, she carefully not to make a sound alerting her attacker got to her feet,  made it to the bedroom door where she closed and locked it, made it to her sliding glass balcony door without a sound. Attempted to unlock, slide it open, and not make notice to her actions got the wire hanger stuck on the sliding lock. When she managed to get loose she could not get the wire loose enough to remove it. While out on the balcony looking down, hands behind her back, standing 5 ft tall on a 15 ft drop leapt into a summersault motion and went over the balcony. Luckily she landed on her knees leaving her bones free of harm or brakes. She saw a woman on her porch having coffee and ran to her yelling for help and for her to call police that a man was in her apartment attacking her friend. Watts fled as soon as he heard her screaming for help, two men saw him fleeing and ran into the apartment where the found Lori still submerged in the bath water. The men quickly sprung into action, pulling her from the water and proceeding with CPR while contacting local police. The actions of Melinda and the 2 gentlemen that didn't waste a min to process and assist saved Lori's life.

Harris County ADA offered a plea to Watts. Watts would be charged with Burglary with INTENT TO MURDER if he confessed to ALL of his crimes and receive immunity from the prosecution on the murder accusations. Watts was presented with a 60 year sentence for the offered deal. Of course, Watts agreed to the plea deal, why the hell wouldn't he snatch that up when Texas is one of the last few states that still impose the Death Penalty?!? That's pretty much getting away with murder when you look at his long list of victims that didn't make it out alive. Once he accepted the deal he led detectives to the bodies of 3 of his victims, confessed to 13 murders, and 19 attacks on 19 different women.

Luckily MI authorities refused to go along with the Plea that TEXAS provided Watts. Meaning the cases/murders he committed within the state of MI remained open and unsolved so to say since an arrest had not been made in the state. The 60 year sentence in TX was handed down in 1982, not long after he began the sentence the TX court of Appeals ruled that he had not been informed that the tub and water he attempted to drown Lori in was considered to be a deadly weapon. This meant he was now classified as a non violent felon allowing him to be eligible for early release (Parole) this allowed 3 days to be deducted from the sentence for EVERY DAY SERVED (3 for 1) as long as they were well behaved. Of course, Watts was the MODEL PRISONER, had enough time deducted from his sentence for the 3 for 1 that he was eligible for release on May 9, 2006. The law that allowed early release was abolished after public outcry but could not be applied retroactively according to the TEXAS CONSTITUTION!

In 2004 MI AG went on TV asking for victims/witnesses to come forward with their information/stories in order to convict Watts of murder to ensure he was not to be released ONCE AGAIN! Only one man came forward that witnessed Watts murder Helen Dutcher who was stabbed 13 times by Watts. Watts had immunity from prosecution for the 13 killings he admitted to in TX. He DID NOT HAVE IMMUNITY IN MI! MI Law Enforcement Officials asked the trial judge to allow the Texas Confessions into evidence, which the trial judge AGREED TO!

The acts and dedication of the MI Law Enforcement Officials led the the lifetime imprisonment of Watts! They refused to allow this "HUMAN" to set foot on free land and hurt another living soul in this lifetime and they made it happen!

Watts Died in prison on September 21, 2007 of Prostate Cancer. He was 53 years old.

2 states are presented in this blog, 2 states holding the freedom of a killer or justice for the victims in their hands. 1 state decided to take a way out that does not even begin to justify a real human response to or allow the victims to have a much needed voice and advocate when they are left unable to do so for themselves due to the fact that this man decided to play god with their lives. The other state refused to chalk it up to anything other than the fight of Justice and didn't stop until that Fight and that Justice was served. They gave those victims the voice and the fight they were unable to give themselves.

Both of these States have led me to the path I am currently perusing. I have seen first hand the 2 sides of what we call and what we know to be Justice. There is more and more injustice within this countries system. And all to commonly the individuals that are supposed to stand up to the killers for the victims that took an oath to protect and serve disregard those details and could care less if the killer walks free or if the victims voice is even heard or not. I have seen this first hand with my own 2 eyes. I called my local PD after having my life threatened with a gun on my own property and told they will continue to come back day after day if that's what it took to get their point across. Nothing was done, I was treated as a criminal, only trying try after try to get inside of my home when none of the altercation took place within my residence. Told a report could not be done without viewing my security cameras on my inside monitor that my phone nor me emailing the video to officers was good enough to proceed with a report. EVEN AFTER one of the officers acknowledged they could clearly see I was afraid for my safety and my life. I was asked if I would like to criminally trespass in which I responded yes only to be told "Well I can't without them being present." THEN WHY DID YOU ASK? IS THIS FUN FOR YOU? I was told if they person returned to not answer my door and call dispatch. Took y'all 20 mins to get here this time, I'll follow your instructions. BUT IF OR WHEN HE DOES SHOW UP AND SHOOTS ME AS HE SAID HE WOULD, I WANT YOU TO BE THE OFFICER THAT HAS TO CALL MY MOM AND TELL HER WORD FOR WORD THE REASON HER DAUGHTER IS EITHER DEAD OR BLEEDING OUT ON THE FLOOR OF HER OWN HOME IN FRONT OF YOUR FROM A SHOOTING!

This should not be the Justice System or Officers we are subjected to! These reasons on top of multiple other PERSONAL experienced reasons are why I am obtaining my BS in Criminal Justice minoring in Criminology & Crime Scene Analysis. So I can TRY and FIGHT to make a difference WITHIN!

What WOULD/WILL YOU DO to take a stand, to right the wrongs, to change the SYSTEM FOR THE BETTER?

A Life Stollen, A repeat offender put to death.

"A convict with a history of assaults headed to the Texas death chamber Tuesday for raping and fatally  beating and slashing an 80-year-old Dallas woman during an attack at her home more than 13 years ago." The title of the article  Michael Graczyk  wrote on September 16, 2002. 13 years after the horrific  murder of my great aunt that impacted our entire family for the rest of everyone's lives. - In July 1989 Patrick broke into the home of a neighbor, 80 year old Nina Rutherford Redd, through a bathroom window. Redd was sexually assaulted before having her throat slashed. Patrick ransacked the home before leaving and was later arrested in Mississippi. A blood-soaked sock was found in the home of Patrick. DNA matched the DNA in Redd's blood sample. Patrick's live-in girlfriend identified the knife found at the scene as theirs. Patrick confessed to the crime shortly after his arrest, but later recanted. Patrick had been convicted of Aggravated Assault in 1986 and ...

Arlington's little Angel

Hey y'all!   We're kicking off this first post with no other than Arlington's little Angel. As in Arlington, TX. Is I was born, and lived in Arlington the majority of my life I thought I would kick this blog off with one from my hometown that hits the heart and feelings on a whole different level.   My childhood home was mins away from the grandparents home. Arlington's little Angel is no other than the little Angel, Amber Rene Hagerman. Born November 25, 1996 in Arlington, TX to Richard and Donna was kidnapped and murdered. The Murder filled Funhouse!

That is correct I said FUNHOUSE! Although, it wasn't ACTUALLY a funhouse but that of a hotel.  Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Herman Webster Mudgett. Or as most people know him as Mr. H. H. Holmes. If you think of H.H. Holmes and you DON'T instantly think about  the "Murder Castle" then you should just ago ahead and stop  reading now because you don't know H.H. Holmes.    Born May 16, 1861     Holmes, an American Con Artist and serial killer! Holmes was the subject of 50 different lawsuits in Chicago alone. A s he took the path of the criminal, h e was even married to 4 different women at the  same time, which is looked down upon and illegal, a horse thief,  and of course, as I stated before a MURDERER! He was  active between the years of 1891 until 1894 when he  was captured, thrown in a jail cell, left to await his trials and  convictions for what he had done.    Holmes was a very intelligent man, in 1882 at ...
