Queen Pin of Poison!

 Giulia Tofana

Would be the woman I am referring to in this read. Known as the "Professional Prisoner Serial Killer."

Italian born, she is the one and only master mind behind the poison called Aqua Tofana.  She sold this poison to women that wanted to murder their husbands by way of the one thing no woman goes without.... COSMETICS! She began her own cosmetics line, then used it to sell the poison to any woman that wanted out of their marriage. Divorce was not a common thing in that time period it made you gain titles you did not want to have back then, the only way out of a marriage without gaining a bad reputation was by means of death. So, some women poisoned their husbands with the Aqua Tofana just to get out of the marriage while others did it to escape a toxic marriage with an abusive husband and did not have any other way out.

Giulia led at least 600 mean to their fatal end by way of selling the poison to these women.

All it took for this poison to claim the life of the man you wanted to be rid of for good was just a few drops over a course of a few days. They could put it in the husbands drinks or food. It was untraceable, had no taste, and had no smell. Leaving the murders to be ruled as natural or undetermined by medical examiners or doctors preforming the autopsy if they did such.

THE MOST KNOWN STORY OF GIULIA -

SHORT VERSION - The most popular story of Giulia paints her as a "badass" Sicilian woman that gave imprisoned women the tools they needed to rid themselves of the men they were married off to at young ages that were suffering by means of toxic marriages.

Another story as to how she got her start, simply put goes as such;

She fled to Rome and set up a poisoning ring that began to sell the poison to women who wanted to escape abusive spouses. There is talk to be 6 women were all in the poison game back in the 1650's, including Girolama Spara, who took over after the death of Giulia.

BACKGROUND -

There is not much of a background on our poison queen pin. It is thought that she was born in Palermo, Italy. There is not date of birth anywhere that I have found that has been verified as her actual birth date. It is said that she took the FIRST name of her mother and made it her LAST name. It was thought she was the daughter to a Palermo poisoner, Thofania d'Adamo. (Like mother like daughter you could say) Her mother, Thofania was accused of poisoning with an arsenic concoction of her own invention. It is said that Thofania was the creator of the Aqua Tofana. She was executed on July 12, 1633.

I find it might be a mix up of information in some shape or fashion as if the mother created the Aqua Tofana, why is it named after Giulia instead of her mother?

There are different stories that surround her death as well.

1. Some, including Historians think that she died in her sleep in 1651 with no one even aware of her poisoning activities.

2. Others think that she did not die until 1659, 1709, or 1730 stating she took sanction in a convent, continued to manufacture and distribute the poison to any woman in need for many years until she was found out. At which point, she was executed and her body thrown over the large wall surrounding the convent that provided her sanctuary.

What are your thoughts on the Queen Pin of Poison? Do you think she was a savior to abused Italian women? Or, do you think she was still a serial/mass murderer? After all, she did take part of the murder to over 600 men!

I want to hear your thoughts, opinions, comments, and concerns!

Until next time, Peace, Love, and Unlawfully Murderous!

The Murder filled Funhouse!

That is correct I said FUNHOUSE! Although, it wasn't ACTUALLY a funhouse but that of a hotel.  Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Herman Webster Mudgett. Or as most people know him as Mr. H. H. Holmes. If you think of H.H. Holmes and you DON'T instantly think about  the "Murder Castle" then you should just ago ahead and stop  reading now because you don't know H.H. Holmes.    Born May 16, 1861     Holmes, an American Con Artist and serial killer! Holmes was the subject of 50 different lawsuits in Chicago alone. A s he took the path of the criminal, h e was even married to 4 different women at the  same time, which is looked down upon and illegal, a horse thief,  and of course, as I stated before a MURDERER!
